which is a standard use of computer systems in several separate organizations to submit data
electronically through business documents.
• Electronic Commerce (E-Commerce)
From this broad definition, e-commerce can
classified into two applications:
1. Electronic commerce applications among business organizations.
System e-commerce applications involving business organizations is often called the inter organizational system (IOS) or B2B (business to business).
Allows a company to more efficiently and effectively conduct business with suppliers, with subscription-subscription or by the dealers and distributors, the distributors.
Examples of success of this application: SABRE is a ticket reservation system owned by American Airlines and electronic data interchange (EDI).
2. The application of electronic commerce between business organizations with the end customer.
The application of e-commerce the most talked about right now is e-commerce applications that use Internet services through a network of World Wide Web (WWW).
This application is also called B2C (business to customers).
Using the internet, it allows a company to
reach get to the end customers wherever, whoever and whenever.
This concept is consistent with the concept of reach and range by Keen (1991) which proposes that companies use IT to gain strategic advantage to attract the reach of IT to the end customers.

Martin expressed the benefits of e-commerce over the Internet compared to DNG via EDI is:
1. Cheaper distribution of documents and digital products.
2. The ability to provide service support to customers.
3. New marketing channel.
4. Having the ability to attract new customers.
5. Provides a single point of contact's location to a variety of products and services.
6. Can be used as a media market research.

Obstacles encountered:
1. Security
2. Security access.
3. Transmission security.
4. Traffic load that is too overloaded.
5. Difficulty sensors.
6. Difficulty in measuring the performance of the site, whether its success will be measured by the number of people who visited or measured by other means.
