Canon EOS 60D - Reviews

Friday, 5 August 2011

With all the changes and reforms, the Canon EOS 60D is create a new class of middle-level classroom.

Canon EOS 60D is the successor to the EOS 50D that has been circulating since mid-2008. Seeing the physical form, the Canon EOS 60D has a physical form is. When juxtaposed, the size is roughly in the middle between the EOS 7D and EOS 550D. This camera body using polycarbonate plastic material. This makes this camera weighs about 70 grams lighter than its predecessor.

In addition, there are also some changes to the existing buttons. Four button near the small screen on top, which previously each have two functions, now has only one function. In addition, there is a new button in the player menu knob. Point to lock the knob so as not to accidentally slipped while taking photographs. So, to switch modes, you must press the button while turning knob.

Four-way joystick is also eliminated, replaced with a button that combined with the second JogDial right of the screen. Canon EOS 60D is already using the jug-sized 3-inch screen with 3:2 aspect-ratio which can be folded. Taking pictures with low-angle or high angle with a live-view has now become easier with the help of this folding screen.

Canon EOS 60D is equipped with APS-C sensor density 18 mega pixels are also used on the EOS 7D and 550D. This camera uses the DIGIC 4 image processor which has also been used in several previous series. This camera has a sensitivity range from ISO 100 to 6400 in levels of each 1 / 3 stop. In addition, there is ISO 12800 which can be activated if needed. Continuous speed camera shot are recorded slower than its predecessor, which is 5.3 frames per second compared to 6.3 frames per second on the EOS 50D. However, the speed is still quite adequate for a variety of needs.

Canon EOS 60D DSLR camera is the middle class is pretty fun. Grip it has quite large and comfortable grip, even though large-handed person. Menu interface that is used is also still the same with Canon DSLR cameras before (so it will not be too difficult.) There is also the Creative Filter feature that lets you give certain effects directly from the camera. The resulting image quality this camera is also quite excellent with a controlled noise. The results of the ISO 1600 image shows a relatively minimal amount of noise. While the ISO 3200 and 6400, the resulting picture is still pretty to be printed on a medium-size or small.

Unfortunately there are some changes that actually make these cameras are "below" its predecessor, such as a lower continuous rate, and body material are no longer using metal.

Canon EOS 500D

Canon EOS 500D DSLR camera is not an entry-level class, but for those who want to switch from compact cameras this might be the right choice. In addition to promising a good picture quality, this camera also allows video recording and still provide an automatic setting that does not bother the user.

In this compact body embedded 15-megapixel sensor with DIGIC 4 image processor equipped with Live View facilities. As a bonus, you still get a hot shoe flash though for the external flash is also provided. At least when the coincidence condition of dim light and no flash light you can still use the flash feature is provided.

Concerning the quality of shots, the Canon EOS 500D did not disappoint. Images look clear with a natural-looking color reproduction. No symptoms of color distortion or noise even when lighting conditions are starting to fade though. At least up to ISO 3200 the image is still clean unless you see it in the maximum size and really pay attention to detail.

In video mode, the Canon EOS 500D is also not disappointing. Footage looks crisp and clear while the movement of objects in the video also looks smooth. The problem actually is the microphone. Mic mounted sufficiently sensitive and able to capture the sound well but the problem is the mechanical sound when zooming also caught. Worse Canon did not provide a jack for an external mic on this camera.

Features Live View is quite good although in the case of autofocus is a bit slow.Another deficiency is probably not the availability of a mechanism that makes this LCD screen can be moved in different directions so that there is no possibility to take pictures of the corners of the 'creative' or even to take a photo of yourself for example. Fortunately, the quality is very good LCD monitor attached so as to see whether the object has been the focus was not too difficult.

For those of you who have no experience of using DSLR cameras, Canon EOS 500D still provides full auto mode that allows the camera to set its own right settings for particular conditions. Decent, if Good Gear Guide dare to give four stars for a camera that sold for U.S. $ 900

Nikon D5100 SLR Camera

Monday, 25 July 2011

Nikon D5100 has the same sensor with Nikon D7000 (that can produce images equivalent to a camera D7000). The sensor is newer and better than the sensor in the Canon 600D. So when using the same lens, the result is better Nikon D5100.

Nikon D5100

Image quality at high ISO (usually used in a dark place) is also better, especially at ISO 1600 and 3200. Moreover, both cameras have difficulties to overcome noise / spots on the photograph.

One of the benefits of Nikon D5100 is the effect of HDR (High Dynamic Range) is the camera will automatically take two images and then combine them into one image with bright dark detail photo more interesting. and also often have a high-resolution swivel LCD.
Nikon D5100 has the advantage in auto focus when activating live view. Like the Nikon D3100 and D7000, D5100 features auto focus continuous or continuous. Nikon calls this the auto focus AF-F. How it works is when the camera detects the subject is not in focus, the camera will try to find the subject position and relock it. But this is not very practical because in the video there will be a  gaps between focused and unfocused. Looks like the manual focus would still be best if you want to record video with a DSLR camera.

The advantages of Nikon D5100 :
  • Image quality is very good in light or dark conditions.
  • Price on the market is cheaper.
  • Effects like HDR, color sketch, interesting and stimulating creativity.

The disadvantages of Nikon D5100 :
  •   There is no auto focus motor in the camera body
  •   The interface is less well & need to go into the menu to replace the function of popular
  •   Unable to set the exposure manually when recording video
