Canon EOS 500D

Canon EOS 500D DSLR camera is not an entry-level class, but for those who want to switch from compact cameras this might be the right choice. In addition to promising a good picture quality, this camera also allows video recording and still provide an automatic setting that does not bother the user.

In this compact body embedded 15-megapixel sensor with DIGIC 4 image processor equipped with Live View facilities. As a bonus, you still get a hot shoe flash though for the external flash is also provided. At least when the coincidence condition of dim light and no flash light you can still use the flash feature is provided.

Concerning the quality of shots, the Canon EOS 500D did not disappoint. Images look clear with a natural-looking color reproduction. No symptoms of color distortion or noise even when lighting conditions are starting to fade though. At least up to ISO 3200 the image is still clean unless you see it in the maximum size and really pay attention to detail.

In video mode, the Canon EOS 500D is also not disappointing. Footage looks crisp and clear while the movement of objects in the video also looks smooth. The problem actually is the microphone. Mic mounted sufficiently sensitive and able to capture the sound well but the problem is the mechanical sound when zooming also caught. Worse Canon did not provide a jack for an external mic on this camera.

Features Live View is quite good although in the case of autofocus is a bit slow.Another deficiency is probably not the availability of a mechanism that makes this LCD screen can be moved in different directions so that there is no possibility to take pictures of the corners of the 'creative' or even to take a photo of yourself for example. Fortunately, the quality is very good LCD monitor attached so as to see whether the object has been the focus was not too difficult.

For those of you who have no experience of using DSLR cameras, Canon EOS 500D still provides full auto mode that allows the camera to set its own right settings for particular conditions. Decent, if Good Gear Guide dare to give four stars for a camera that sold for U.S. $ 900
