The Manchester Scholarship Foundation was incorporated in 1965 as a nonprofit organization to help the town's students further their education beyond the secondary school level.
Since the first awards were made in 1966, $1.3 million has been awarded to 1,300 students. Recipients have attended a variety of schools, both public and private, in-state and out-of-state, liberal arts and vocational. Scholarship recipients have studied in a wide array of academic areas.
A volunteer Board of Directors representing a cross section of the community govern the MSF. They determine the general policies of the Foundation and oversee the accounting and investment of funds, the receipt of scholarship donations, the establishment of specific scholarships, the scholarship selection process and the annual awards ceremony.
The Manchester Scholarship Foundation is proud of its history of awarding scholarships to area students and is grateful to the community for its support. The Foundation is happy to accept donations from individuals, businesses, clubs and service groups. Gifts in any amount are welcome.
Individuals, businesses or groups that would like to make contributions to the general Scholarship Fund or to the Adult Learners Scholarship may send checks in any amount to the Manchester Scholarship Foundation, 20 Hartford Road, Manchester, CT 06040.
